When should I book seasonal services like holiday lighting and roof de-icing?

Book in the fall. Holiday light installation calendars fill quickly once the weather turns, and roof de-icing cables are easiest and safest to install before the first hard freeze. Reaching out in October or early November gets you the date you want and gets your home ready before winter sets in.

Is professional holiday lighting really safer than doing it myself?

Yes, and not only because of the ladder work. Holiday displays overload outlets and trip breakers when indoor cords, undersized circuits, or non-GFCI outlets are used outside. Our electricians are licensed, so we size and protect the power correctly, use outdoor-rated lights, and set timers, and the display is safe as well as good-looking.

Can roof de-icing cables be installed after winter has started?

It is best to install them before the snow and ice arrive, but we can assess your roof and advise on the safest timing if winter is already here. The goal is to protect your roof and avoid the water damage that ice dams cause, so we will tell you honestly what makes sense for your home and the conditions.

When should I schedule generator service or a new generator install?

Late summer or fall, before the winter storm season. A yearly maintenance visit catches a weak battery, old oil, or a transfer switch that was never exercised while the grid is still up, and a new standby generator install needs time for sizing, the permit, and the inspection. Booking early means your backup power is ready before the first big storm.

Do you take holiday lights down at the end of the season?

Yes, ask about end-of-season takedown when you book. It means you are not on a ladder in January, and your lights are stored properly for next year. Permanent outdoor lighting skips this entirely, since it stays up year round and just changes color from an app.
